CGM technology improves fast. The Dexcom G6 gave way to the G7. FreeStyle Libre 2 was succeeded by Libre 3. OmniPod DASH was followed by OmniPod 5 with automated insulin delivery. If you've recently upgraded your continuous glucose monitor or insulin pump in Charlotte, there's a good chance you have sealed boxes of your old system that you'll never use again.

Here's what to do with them — and how to get paid.

Common upgrade situations we see

• Dexcom G6 → G7 — The G7's all-in-one design and 10-day wear made many Charlotte users eager to switch. G6 sensors don't work in the G7 app, so leftover G6 boxes become useless to the person who upgraded.
• FreeStyle Libre 2 → Libre 3 — The Libre 3's real-time glucose alarms drove major adoption. Libre 2 sensors can't be used with the Libre 3 reader, leaving sealed boxes behind.
• OmniPod DASH → OmniPod 5 — The 5's CGM integration (Dexcom G6/G7 and Libre 2 Plus) for automated insulin delivery was a major upgrade. DASH pods are not compatible with the OmniPod 5 controller.
• MDI → pump therapy — Moving from multiple daily injections to a pump often leaves behind CGM supplies chosen for MDI compatibility.

Are old-generation supplies still worth anything?

Yes — often more than people expect. The secondary market for diabetic supplies exists precisely because many people can't get the newest generation covered by their insurance, or can't afford the copay. Someone stuck on a plan that covers G6 but not G7 will happily pay below-retail for sealed G6 sensors from someone who just upgraded.

Old-generation supplies still have real value as long as they're sealed, undamaged, and not close to expiring. G6 sensors, DASH pods, and Libre 2 sensors all have active buyer demand in Charlotte.
